International Conference (7/3/2014)

The Krishna Degree College recently witnessed a mega event An International Conference on ‘Achieving Sustainable Global Economy’ , on 7th March 2014 in the college.There was an overwhelming response from the paper presenters. The prestigious programme was inaugurated by Dr. M.R Doreswamy, Hon’ble Chancellor PES University and Founder Chairman of PES Group of Institutions, Prof.B.Thimme Gowda Vice Chancellor Bangalore University, Mr.Jagadish Ahuja, Director-PCS Securities Ltd, the Founder Chairman SKIES Dr.M.RukmangadaNaidu and Vice-Chairman Smt.JalajaNaidu, the Academic Director Prof.S.P.Manohar, the Principal SKDC Prof saraswathi kumbale. P and the other dignitaries who graced the occasion.

They congratulated the management and advised the faculty to inculcate the spirit of research in youngsters. There should be constructive changes in the Academics to meet the present day challenges. The chief guest for the valediction programme was Dr.Madhukar Angur, honorable chancellor, Alliance university was present . It was indeed an honour to hear to his mesmerizing speech. He appreciated the college which is engaged in knowledge creation his message to the gathering was to develop innovativeness and create community colleges and advise the students to develop the culture of research.

Dr.Rukmangada Naidu expressed his opinion and said that it was very important day in the history of the college he advised the paper presenters to share and transfer the knowledge to the students. Only then the purpose of the conference will be fruitful he said. The chief guest Dr.Madhukar Angur released the journal ‘Sadhana’ in which various papers from different colleges and universities throughout India and abroad are published.

Steps to Success – The Club

In order to meet the challenging needs of corporate environment, it is not just sufficient for a student to be sound theoretically but must also be exposed to the outer world in a dynamic way to face practical situation. The various clubs provide a chance for students to interact with fellow students, faculty, business leaders and the surrounding community. The clubs offer a series of activities to address personality development, professional and business issues that are not generally included in the formal program but are critical to the overall experience. Guest Faculty is invited to update the knowledge and skills of students; students get an opportunity to interact with the budding entrepreneurs.

The Management Club - “SYNERGY”, the commerce - "SPARK", The Computer Club - "SKIES TECH" and The Kannada Club - "NAVA CHAITNYA" were inaugurated in the academic year 2013-14.

The Objectives of the Clubs are:

Krishna Management and Commerce + IT Fest (K-MAC IT) 2014 is the brainchild of the commerce and management department. K-MAC IT is an intercollegiate fest conducted in our college. In times when business is highly dynamic, a commerce student has toequip himself/herself not only with bookish knowledge but also has to undergo some practical exposures to the modern corporate world. Corporate require talented and skilled students who can take the companies to greater heights.This fest is conducted with the objective of developing the managerial skills of the students and also to provide a platform for them to exhibit their talents andcreativity in the field of commerce.

SKIES CARNIVAL - ಚಿಲುಮೆ - ನಮ್ಮ ಗುರಿ ಆಕಾಶದತ್ತ

SKIES had organized the Carnival on 8th March 2013, on the occasion of International Women's Day. This event is conducted once in two years. With the grounds decorated and students attired in their traditional best, the enthusiasm was truly contagious. In order to create a festive atmosphere in the college and also within the Students, the Management had arranged a Fun Fest and also to motivate the marketing skills of the students Raffle tickets were sold. Various exhibitions, stalls, games and many more attractions were arranged for education and recreation.

Industrial visit

Industrial Visit is a part of Management course, during which students visit companies and get insight regarding the internal working environment of a company and how a company functions, as well as useful information related to the practical aspects of the educational course which cannot be visualized in lectures. The industrial visit is considered one of the most tactical methods of teaching. It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. Moreover, it gives exposure from an academic point of view.

Career Counselling & Placement Cell

The Placement Cell of Sri Krishna Degree College has been training students and providing them with opportunities to get placed in leading MNC'S, Banks, educational institutes, biotech firm's etc. since the year 2011.

Students from all disciplines under go career counselling by a professional counsellor throughout the year. The placement cell conducts various activities and workshops such as resume writing, interview skills, group discussions, aptitude tests and mock interviews for the students. The students also attend pre-placement talks organized by the companies which are then followed by tests and interviews in the collage campus.

Apart from this, the students are also given opportunities for internships, part-time jobs and CA Article ships. There is a continuous interface between the alumni placed in the companies and the outgoing students of each year which enables the placement cell to obtain a current and valuable insight into the industry and facilitate the students with the best possible opportunities.

Cultural Activities

The cultural events can be broadly classified into competitions, festivals, workshops and celebrity guests. The committee aims to bring out talent in the student community in all the possible forms whether it is music, dance, theatre, literary skills, sketching or other fine artstyles. In order to showcase these talents various competitions like 'Sangeet', ‘Ethnic Day’, 'Dance', 'Drama', 'Rangoli' are calendared throughout the year. The committee organizes various festivals like Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Vijayadashami, Deepavali along with few regional festivals like Sankaranti, Ugadi. This helps to sensitize all towards the wide spectrum of beliefs, which have harmoniously coexisted in India, and spreading the message of peace and brotherhood which have transpired since ages through these festivals.

In addition, there are celebrity guests, which add color to student's life in campus. Spoorthy – Cultural Fest is organized every year by the committee which is one of the most popular event taking place in the campus.


Sri Krishna International Society believes in all round development of students. Apart from encouraging students to take part in extracurricular activities, the institute has also provided them with state of the art facilities for the sports and games like Cricket, Volleyball, basketball, Athletics etc. By learning qualities like team work, leadership, sportive spirits students under the guidance of expert’s coaches have won many competitions at district and state levels.

The Sports complex has Badminton court, Throwball court and Volleyball court. Resources for other indoor games like carroms, chess are also available. The students in SKIES - SKDC are divided into groups who compete with each other every weekend in all sports activities.
